About
us:-
At Out of Term we recognise the benefits of an active lifestyle and look
to promote this through quality instruction. All courses are constructed
and run by qualified Level 3 players/coaches with the aim of providing
technical instruction within a safe and enjoyable environment. Coaches
are qualified as per the regulations laid out by the governing body that
controls the activity they are coaching. All coaches are vetted for
suitability and have signed a declaration concerning their good character
(a sample form is available upon request). The Course Leader is instantly
contactable and will carry a list of emergency numbers at all times. A
qualified First Aider will be in attendance at every course.
Course
content:-
Qualified coaches will offer instruction in every aspect of the game and
participants will be supervised at all times. Programmes are designed to
cater for everyone from the novice to the county/regional player.
Sessions include:
-
the laws of
cricket
-
skill
practices in batting, bowling and fielding
-
competitive
games and quizzes to
test the newly acquired skill
-
opportunities
to ask questions.
Some
courses also include day trips, for example to watch professional cricket at
Lord's.
Upon
completion of the course each participant will be issued with a progress report
containing hints for further improvement. Prizes are also up for grabs
for participants who have made an all-round contribution to the course.
What
to bring:- Some kit will be provided but for the more
specialist pieces of equipment participants are requested to bring their
own. Whites are desirable but not essential. Trainers should be brought,
along with any specialist footwear. Sun hats and sun cream and/or
suitable waterproof clothing are required, depending on weather
conditions. A packed lunch is required for all full day courses, although
a ‘tuck shop’ facility will be available.
